Even though I usually choose the more sane and sustainable thing I now and again get the urge to just waste energy in the form of petrol. I’m the proud owner of a Triumph motorcycle and the feeling of freedom when riding is amazing. This is also a big problem for society as a lot of our choices are not rational but emotional. To be able to solve some of these things we do not only have to think differently we need the technology to solve some of the problems. We human beings like to feel good be it from eating, exercising or driving motorcycles we have a need to make this life a life of pleasure. This however only after we have reached a certain energy-level and by that I mean that we need shelter, food, safety and health before we can think about, consciously or unconsciously, the pleasures of life. The same goes for thinking about anything else but one owns needs, the environment, democracy, universal education etc.
